  • Philgence is entering her fifth professional season, first full time.
  • In 199-1992, she played indoor volleyball in France with Union Sportive Vesinet.
  • In the first year of the BVA Tour, she played in three events. She had her best result at Seal Beach with Missy Ross where she finished 17th.

College

  • Philgence played her college volleyball at Florida State University (FSU) 1987-1990.
  • She was inducted into the FSU ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME in 1998.
  • She still holds the FSU career kills record, 2,110 kills and career kill attempts, 4,793.
  • She earned AVCA All-South Regional honors in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990.
  • She earned All-Metro Conference honors in 1988, 1989 and 1990.
  • She was Metro Rookie of the Year in 1987.
  • Maggie is still ranked among FSU's Top 10 in 14 statistical categories.
  • In 1991, she played on the South Team for the Olympic Festival in Los Angeles that defeated the West to claim the Gold Medal.

Personal

  • Maggie was born in St. Lucia and raised in St. Croix Virgin Islands.
  • She was St. Croix Country Day School Female Athlete of the Year in 1987.
  • Philgence graduated from FSU in 1991 with a B.A. in English/Social Work.
  • She returned to school in 1996 at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles and earned an AA degree in Apparel Manufacturing Management.
  • In the near future, she would like to create a women's active wear line that is moderately priced, yet still fashion forward. A line that easily fits into today's female athlete active life style with sophistication and class.
